Falling in Love with the Fall: A Spirit of Change is in the Air.

Autumn is a farewell to summer but also a new beginning. Winds of change blow, spreading the scent of new promise to mark your way.

In autumn, nature changes its shape, and entire carpets of leaves are painted in the colors of fire; a dozen shades of orange, gold, and red. Beauty abounds in the shifting leaves, especially the leaves of maple trees that turn orange and brown.

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

Warm days give way to cool and crisp nights. The pleasant breeze flows, allowing you to finally keep the windows open while wrapping yourself in warm clothes or curling up on the sofa.

Autumn's harvest is rich in unique fruits and vegetables, adding their aroma to oven-baked dishes whose pleasant fragrance we breathe in as evening falls, and the atmosphere heralds the arrival of change.

"Fall" and/or "Autumn"

"Autumn" is derived from the Latin word "autumnus," with the root of the word associated to "the passing of the year." The term "fall" was likely a deviation from the Old English words "fiaell" and "feallan," both of which mean "to fall from a height." It is assumed that this new name for the season was inspired by the trees' falling leaves.

'Fall' and 'Autumn' eventually replaced the word 'harvest' when referring to the season as more and more people moved from rural areas to cities. - Bustle

Autumn and Fall are used interchangeably as words for the season between summer and winter. Both are used in American and British English, but Fall occurs more often in American English. Autumn is considered the more formal name for the season.

Nature Awakens & a Smell of Change is in the Air

Autumn brings with it romance and mystery, heralding the end of the old and the beginning of something new and fresh. The wind whispers a new story to us and creates a magical atmosphere, carrying with it new sounds, smells, and colors.

It is a time of transition, a change of temperature; we escape the extreme summer heat to enjoy milder weather, not so hot, not so cold.

"Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop" ~Rumi

Trees take off their clothes and the leaves fall off to the ground waiting for new, fresh leaves to grow. It is a sign of letting go-letting go of what no longer makes sense, what doesn’t belong, what doesn’t add up and, what steals your energy.

Glorious Trees & Astounding Colors

Here's what autumn looks like: trees go crazy with astounding color and a mosaic of leaves scatters on the ground, crackling underfoot. There is a settling mood with the cooling weather outside that allows us to sleep more hours before we get up for work. The chilly winds of autumn and the falling leaves announce that it’s time to think positive and believe the best is yet to come. Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic and the future looks bleak, we can see that the universe is sending us signs that the good is coming.

The Best Season to be More Creative with your Wardrobe

With the advent of the autumn wind, it is nice to start wearing cardigan sweaters. As the temperature drops, it's a great feeling to twirl a cozy scarf around your neck, slip into your jeans, and pull on your leather boots to get the perfect autumnal look.

Bring Autumn Indoor

The crisp autumn weather brings a breath of fresh air to your home. You can create a fall atmosphere indoors by bringing some aromas and smells in the air and adding a touch of seasonal decor to your home. Apple trees are full and branches hang down in big clusters like grapes. It makes you crave any form of apple-related food- from apple salad to a tasty apple cake.

Apples, the trademark fruit of fall, are eaten in large quantities for their sweetness and because they are high in fiber, vitamin C, and various antioxidants. That's why they’re perfect for on-the-go snacking, as well.

There's nothing like staying home during the fall when it's cold outside, making dinner, lighting a fire, wrapping yourself in a blanket, drinking a glass of hot tea or red wine apple cider sangria, and reading a book by scented candlelight.

No Rush!

This year, autumn is different but also exciting.

It's the perfect time to refresh and relax from the marathon of life; an opportunity to recharge your energy and get ready to receive the new and the good things that are yet to come.

It's your perfect time to slow down and just delve into the cozy atmosphere at home. Enjoy the serenity!
